My journey though paper, glue and lots of bling!

Pretty Pretty Princess

I really loved this weeks Mojo Monday sketch but when I actually went to use it, I struggled, here's the sketch:
I've gotten to where I kind of like making the occasional round card so I went with that idea. Anything I did with the 3 little strips on this card looked silly to me so I decided to bunch up some ribbon and go with that. With my cute little princess image from Tiddly Inks I think the bunched up ribbon works.
My paper was from my scrap bin but I believe it was some Disney Princess stuff from EK Success. I colored Katrina with Smooch paint and watercolor pencils.
My sentiment is from the Healing Wings set from Skipping Stones Design. I added a few Petaloo bling flowers to the corner of the image as well as the ends of the sentiment.
I am also entering this into the challenge at Tiddly Inks, for their Fit for a Princess challenge.

Breast Wishes for a Happy Birthday

I saw this cute sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You and decided it needed to be used.

I used Bras Vol. 1 from Skipping Stones Design as well as a sentiment from another Bras that has yet to be released.
I had just a bit of this cute striped paper left in my scrap bin. I don't remember who its by but I loved it. I used lots of cardstock to go along with this, the pink is Bo-Bunny Dots and the teal is by Bazzill.
I colored my bra with watercolor pencils and added some Stickles and a little bling in the center. I also blinged up the corners and the ribbon on my card.

Rustic Tiles

Today's sketch is brought to you by CPS Card Sketches.
The sketch reminded me of the Rustic Tiles set by Skipping Stones Design so that's what I used on my card. I first stamped 1 of the tiles in Versa Mark all over 1 side of the kraft paper. Then in the center, I stamped a different tile in worn lipstick Distress Ink.
I added some matching ribbon and matted it in some paper from my scrap bin that I used on a wedding album awhile back. I also used a Skipping Stones boarder set for the scallop on top of the ribbon.
I used a vintage brad for the center of the bow. I'm almost out of these brads. I love them, must find more. I stamped Happy Birthday in vintage photo Distress Ink. Thanks for looking!

Katie for a Cure with Stamp Insanity and Fussy and Fancy

Yes, typically the Fussy and Fancy girls post on Fridays, sadly, it's only Thursday however, this week Fussy and Fancy is teaming up with Stamp Insanity to bring you a very special release.  Because this is the release day for this amazing set from Stamp Insanity, we are posting today. Beth at Stamp Insanity was kind enough to let the Fussy and Fancy girls use the Katie for a Cure set this week which releases today. This is what Beth had to say about this set:

"Katie for a Cure is a very special set I designed to honor my cousin Kate, who earlier this year, at age 33, was diagnosed with breast cancer.   Kate is the picture of health and vitality, and her spirit is magical.  She has two very young children, and is in the prime of her life – which makes her diagnosis all the more distressing.   As only Katie can, she is fighting this disease with the strength and grace of a pure champion.   Her story is sadly not unique, but this is my Katie, and I had to do something. It is tragic, but I am sure that my family is not the only one to have this disease repeatedly rearing its head at us.  It is my hope that together we will raise a donation that we can all be proud of.  And if nothing else, Kate will get a smile from all the beautiful cards that you share with us.  Thank you all in advance for your donations and your creations!"

The challenge this time around for the Fussy and Fancy girls was to use Pink and Black. So without further ado, here is my card using Katie for a Cure!
I made a tent card for this challenge and hung my cute little Katie in the window. I used pink cardstock and some pink and black camo paper I had in my stash.
I added a pink ribbon and bow held with a cute pearl brad as well as some cute rhinestone flowers by Petaloo.
I also used some pink bling around the Cancer Sucks sentiment.
Make sure to check out what the other girls did with this challenge and be sure you head over to Fussy and Fancy to play along with this challenge of Pink and Black. Stamp Insanity is donating 1 digi set to the winner (winner chooses the set). What a great prize! Be sure to check out the Groovy Gurlz samples also.

Rockin' Betty

I found this cool sketch over at Simply Betty and thought it would give me a good reason to ink up my new Betty or Rio stamps from Simply Betty Stamps.
I decided on Betty. I colored her with some watercolor pencils and then added a few spots of Stickles.
I used Bo-Bunny dot paper which I ran a bit of it though the Cuttlebug with the Allegro folder. I inked it just a bit with some pumice stone Distress Ink. I also inked around the sentiment and Betty with the Distress Ink.
I used my MS spider web boarder punch and added a music note brad to this card to finish it off. I matted my images with some scraps of Pirate Princess paper from Rusty Pickle. And don't forget the little bits of black bling in the corners.

Buggy Monocromatic Mojolistic Off The Wall Craftiness

Wow..that title is a mouthful isn't it? It's because of all the challenges this card is being entered into. 1st I used the sketch from Mojo Monday
Then I pulled my colors fro Off The Wall Craftiness
And then I used the Mostly Monochromatic challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmi.
I also am entering this into Catch The Bug Challenge at Bugaboo where the theme is Sweet Summertime.

And now, my card:
I used all Bo-Bunny dot card stock. I ran some of it through my Cuttlebug before using it. My image is the adorable Florence from Kraftin' Kimmie. I colored her with my water color pencils and then used some broken china and tea dye Distress Ink for the sand and clouds.
Added some Crystal Effects to her cool shades.
And a hint of gold Smooch paint to her hair. I also added a bunch of Prima flowers and a fussy brad to this card as well as ribbon from my stash and the sentiment from Twisted Sentiments from My Favorite Things.

Nightmare Before Christmas in July

The fab girls over at The Burtonesque Dolls have an awesome challenge this week, The Nightmare Before Christmas in July!
I always love the challenges at the Burtonesque Dolls and this one was no different. Growing up this was (and maybe still is) my brothers favorite movie so we got to watch it alot. When the girls announced this challenge the movie cover instantly came to mind. I used a play on that for my card:
I used all cardstock on this card. I cut the black hill by hand and inked the edges of the moon with a little mustard seed and mandarin Distress Ink. I cut the tree from my Doodlecharms cartridge and added some red bling for ornaments or lights.
I stamped the tail of the witch on a halloween inkadoo stamp set onto the moon.
When I was finished I sprayed the whole card with some black magic and silver sugar Glimmer Mist to give it a dark sparkle.

Wednesday on Monday

I've been a little missing in action the last few days, I've had company and we played tourist and had a blast and then I've been working way too many hours between 3 different jobs. UGH! I was finally able to sit down tonight and put a cute little card together. I ordered the cute Creepers from The Greeting Farm and just had to ink them up. For my card I used the July sketch from Friends Having Fun.
And here's my card
I used Wednesday for my card. I colored her with water color pencils in black and gray to meet the challenge at The Burtonesque Dolls.
I used some cute skull paper from my scrap stash as well as some black glitter paper from my scrap stash as well.  Threw on some black ribbon too.
My sentiment is from the Twisted Sentiments set from My Favorite Things. Also used some faux stiching and a big black brad to finish off my card.
Thanks for stopping by.

Just a little naughty

Happy Fussy and Fancy Friday! Today the challenge being posted is stitch, scallop and sparkle. I love sparkle! Our sponsor this week is Stitchy Stamps and they were gracious enough to provide us with a few of their great digi stamps. I got Ms. South to use on my card. She's adorable!
I colored her with water color pencils and added some Stickles to her horns, shirt and tail. I inked the edges with black soot Distress Ink and added faux stitching around the edge of the top note cut. I used some old Harley Davidson paper I had, I think it's by EK Success as well as some black cardstock which I ran through the Cuttlebug with the Zebra folder.
I used some black sequence "ribbon" and a Martha Stewart board punch for the edges of the black. I also cut a scalloped circle and stamped the word Naughty from the MTF Twisted Sentiments set.
I smeared Versa Mark over the sentiment after inking the edges with black soot Distress Ink and added some Iridescent Ice embossing powder from Stampin' Up for some more sparkle. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the Fussy and Fancy blog to play along for your chance to win.

Friends Having Fun Birthday challenge

I decided to create a card for the challenge over at Friends Having Fun, it was a recipe challenge and you must use the following:
a HAPPY BIRTHDAY theme to it: ✔
- Create a shape using eyelets or brads ✔
- Use a number(s) ✔
- Tie a bow somewhere on your creation ✔
- And use a tag ✔

So here is my card:
I used a tag shape for my card to take care of the tag part of the challenge. I used paper by The Girls Paperie (which has numbers on it) and Bazzill. My sentiment is stamped on some Bo-Bunny dot paper. I used the Sassy Birthday set from Creative Clear Stamps. I love this set. It so fits my personality.
I added some blue brads on the 4 corners of the square to make the square shape.
I stamped the twill tape with the same sentiment I used on the card and tired it into a bow at the top of the tag card.

Baby congrats

I can't say who yet but someone very close to me is having a baby. YEA!!! So excited! So I created this card for the new parents. I think I posted another one like this awhile ago but I just love it for the parents who have a sense of humor.
I used some pink and blue card stock from my scrap stash and some white ink to "stamp" my fingerprint. I used some moonlight Smooch paint for the little tails.
I used some vellum and my tag mater for the egg and some string for the tail. I pop dotted this onto the card.
The inside reads:

Safe in the Arms of Jesus

I think we all hate to make sympathy cards. It's never a joyous thing to have to do. This one was no different however, the great set called In The Arms of Jesus by Creative Clear Stamps has the most amazing sentiment for sympathy cards.
I used paper from My Minds Eye with some accents from my scrap bin. I stamped the sentiment in vintage photo Distress Ink and inked the edges of the sentiment with some tea dye Distress Ink. I added some brown and pink ribbon to finish off the card.
Isn't this sentiment great?! Love it!
My inside reads:
This is a single sentiment also from Creative Clear Stamps called Sending Love.
