Simply Betty Challenge #2

I'm loving that Simply Betty stamps has a challenge blog now. Love her stamps and now her challenges too. Challenge #2 is to make a halloween project createing a new Halloween color combo, diverging from the traditional Black, Orange, Purple and Greens. I was nervous at 1st, I mean, what's halloween without those colors? Well, here's what I came up with:
Not that you can really see it but I used some base paper from Creative Imaginations that has skulls on the cherries. I love it! I added some other stuff from my scrap bin.
I pop dotted little Devil Rio and matted her in more scraps.
I embossed the 1st pink strip with some skulls, left the green plain and the 2nd pink strip was some already embossed paper. Added some bling to match.
I stamped my sentiment from MTF Party Girl set right on my ribbon. I love how this looks. Thanks for checkin' in at my blog. Can't wait to read your happy comments!

A friend with chocolate is a friend indeed...

This month Hambo Stamps has a sketch challenge going on. I love sketches and the opportunity to win some digis is always a plus so here is their sketch:
It was a fun little sketch to work with. Here's my card, I'm totally on a Halloween kick:
I'm not sure what's up with my camera lately but it's been taking a few blurry pics no matter how many times I try to get the whole card. It's frustrating. Anyway, I used paper from We R Memory Keepers from the Heebie Jeebie Line. Love this stuff. It's B sided as well.
My stamp is another one of the kids quotes stamps from Inkadinkado and the ribbon I found the other night in the $1 bins at Target.
I inked my edges and added a little bling and there ya go.

Fussy and Fancy Challenge 20, Mindy's Sketch

It's that time again...time for a rockin' new challenge over at Fussy and Fancy! Today Mindy has a great sketch for us!
I've been in the mood for Halloween for a few weeks now so I figured, why not make a rockin' Halloween card with Mindy's rockin' sketch?!
I used paper from We R Memory Keepers from their Heebie Jeebie line. Love this stuff! My stamp is from Impressions Obsession, it's their margarita line. I love them all but this is my favorite! Used some coordinating Primas with some matching bling.
I found this rockin' ribbon at my LSS, Altered Art and Scrap Playground, it's from Fancy Pants and is totally to die for! Added some bling to it as well. My sentiment is from My Favorite Things Party Girl set.
I inked the edges in black soot Distress Ink and Stickled my drink to look a little more creepy and don't forget the bit of Ooey Gooey punch from MS at the bottom by the ribbon!
Our sponsor this time around is Bunny Zoe's Crafts. She's offered a gift certificate to the winner of this challenge. Her Christmas store is now open as well. Be sure to stop by and check them out.

Trick or Treat

Tiddly Inks has this rockin' sketch for their challenge this week...do I use the word rockin' too much? Maybe I need to find another kick butt word...anyway, back to the rockin' sketch. How fun is this?
I pulled Pinky from my my stash of digis, She's so cute. She was a must have and believe it or not, this was the 1st time I've used her.Does that tell you I have too many digis? My paper is some more B side paper from Making Memories from the Spook Alley collection.
I colored her with my NEW Limited Edition Glimmer Mist's in Pomegranate and Gumdrop. I also used some Black Magic for her hair. I also used some Smooch Paint for her how and the skull on the cupcake.
I cut some strips of black with the MS spider web boarder punch. I also used some stamps from Inkadinkado from a few years back. It was a halloween set. You can kind of see in the picture below the spiderweb that I embossed in Iridescent Ice embossing powder from Stampin' Up.
My sentiment is also from the Inkadinkado set. I finished off my card with a light mist of Orange Smooch Spray.
I'm also entering my over at the Burtonesque Dolls for Challenge #19, Trick or Treating in Burton's Neighborhood. I think Pinky falls right into Burton's neighborhood, don't you?

Too Ghoul for School, Burtonesque Challenge #18

Wow...these challenges lately are really challenging for me. I had no idea when I started this card, what would come out of the whole thing. The challenge at the Burtonesque Dolls this week was Burtons School of Ghouls.
I used the Sweet and Toxic set from The Greeting Farm and a background stamp from Cornish Heritage that I totally forgot I had. It looks like a sheet of notebook paper. Too cute!!
I used a cut from Rock Princess Cricut cartridge that says Old School with skulls. I also used some Washi tape in a few spots.
I cut the skull from Wall Decor Cricut cartridge and used it as a stencil when I sprayed the heck out of my paper with Glimmer Mist in Black Magic and Smooch Spray. Also added a strip of paper from We R Memory Keepers Heebie Jeebie line.
Finished off my card with some of the green gauze ribbon and a black rose brad. Surprisingly I like the strange outcome of this card. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you come back to visit soon.

Chicks Rule, Tiddly Inks Challenge #21

I had to dig deep in my creativity for this card, not that it's much too creative but I don't typically like or use too many animals in my crafting. I did save this cute little chick off of a Tiddly Inks freebie at Paper Craft Planet awhile back and hadn't used it yet so this seamed like a good time. The challenge was to use a pet or animal. Without further adu, my card:
See, I told you it wasn't TOO creative. But it is simple and cute. I do love this little chick now that I've use it. I colored it with Glimmer Mist and a paint brush. I'm really kinda diggin' this coloring with Glimmer Mist and Smooth Spray. Makes it nice and bold and even a little sparkly.
I put my twill tape in some of the yellow Glimmer Mist as well to get it the color I wanted and added it under the little button. I made the button with my button punch and embosser. This tool is so sweet! My papers are some scraps I had from Cosmo Cricket. Loved this paper. Wish I had more!
Thanks for stoppin' by!

Count your rainbows, SBS Challenge #1

Super excited...Simply Betty Stamps has a new challenge blog! I couldn't wait to play along with her 1st challenge. She posted a picture of her totally rockin', I'm so jealous I don't have a pair, funky socks as inspiration. What a blast this challenge was to work on. Here's the socks! Don't they rock?
Here's my card:
I made my paper by taking white card stock and smearing all sorts of colors of Distress Ink on it. Then I ran it through my Cuttlebug with a cool cheetah print folder by Sizzix. I then sprayed the paper with a few matching colors of Glimmer Mist and Smooch Spray and finished it by inking the embossing with black soot Distress Ink. Totally love the look I got!
I even colored cute little Betty with my Glimmer Mist and Smooch Spray. She turned out so bold and vibrant, not to mention a bit sparkly. I don't recommend this unless using a paint brush cuz I ruined a blender pen in the process. :(
My sentiment is a stamp from Inkadinkado, it's a kids quotes stamp.
I love this new gauze like ribbon that they have in at Altered Art and Scrap Playground. Makes for a cool embellishment. I added some black glitter snowballs (I don't know if that's really what they are called) and a few tiny blings to Betty's eyes.
Can't wait for next weeks challenge!

"Thank you for being a friend", My Minds Eye Challenge 15

My Minds Eye has great challenges and I always buy paper to participate and then never get around to it. They have a great challenge right now with an easy sketch, so I'm finally getting around to participating.
The Challenge: Design a Thank You  layout or other project based on this sketch:

What a simple sketch and amazing papers to work with. I used paper from the Lost and Found line from My Minds Eye, both Market Street and Madison Avenue collections. It's all glittery and fun! Here is my take on the challenge:
I cut some flowers from the Tattered Flower die by Tim Holtz which I'm now in love with and added a cool antique brad to the center if the flower.
I finally attempted one of the cool ribbon roses I've been seeing all over the place and absolutely love the end result. I used some of the rockin' new ribbon they have in at Altered Art and Scrap Playround to make it.
My last flower I made out of a strip of MME paper and a boarder punch. I also got to use my awesome new button punch. I added lots of Vintage Photo Distress Ink ink and Sandy Beach Glimmer Mist to this layout which was very scary for me. That's something that's totally out of my norm but I might have to do more often cuz I'm diggin' the final outcome.
I added a punched tab with the year to the side the of my picture. I used the Opposites Attract and the All Mixed Up font cartridges from Cricut for my wordage.

Burtonesque Challenge #17, Willy Wonka

Hello all you guys and ghouls! How fun was this weeks challenge over at The Butronesque Dolls!?! Loved it! Really had me thinking too. The challenge was based on Willy Wonka! We needed to create a new candy box, candy bag, chocolate bar, any fun and funky new candy you would find in Willy Wonka's factory. You can even create a fun and funky candy Wrapper!
I used more of that adorable paper by Echo Park. I used a coffin template that I had on file. I cut a boarder with the MS Spiderweb boarder punch and added it to the underside of the lid. Use the Blackletter and the Indi Art cartridge for the lettering and the skull.
I sprayed the lid of my box with some orange Smooch spray as well as some black magic and silver Glimmer Mist.  My truffles were made with more Echo Park paper and a little bit of We R Memory Keepers Heebie Jeebie line. I added some brad and ribbon and my "frosting" is Stickles.
