When the going gets tough

While ago a friend of mine got a card from her sister, it was a (naughty word alert) Hallmark, but the idea behind it was super cute so I took it up a notch and made it my own. Here it is.
I picked up some fake eyelashes at the dollar store aroud halloween. My paper is last years Echo Park valentine line. This is the 1st sheet I've cut because I love it so much.
I computer generated my senti. The inside says "The tough buy waterproof mascara".
I added a little chalk to make eye shadow, some ribbon and some bling to finish the card off. I used the Oval Lace Dies from Lifestyle crafts (Formerly Quickutz) for my senti. I really fell in love with these dies. I love them more than my Spellbinders. Shocker I know!

Anyway, I won't keep you here any longer. Thanks for dropping by.

Fishing

A few weekends ago the special someone and I went to learn how to tie fly fishing flies. Not that I need another hobby but it was fun and I had other motives...time with the cute boy AND embellie!! So here's a card I made my dad for Father's Day that I added one of my flies to.
I used Holy Carp from Skipping Stones Design. I used some paper from my scrap bin. Problem with scrap bins is I don't always know or remember who the paper is by. The top brown paper is Bo Bunny.
Here's a close up of my senti and my tie. Believe it or not, these are pretty easy little guys to make. I'm going back this Saturday to do some more.
And I couldn't leave you without a close up of this little guy. He is very cute and goofy. Perfect for the senti.

I'm entering this card in the CASual Friday blog.

Friends are like shoes

I was diggin through my scrap bin the other day and found these 2 papers that paired nicely together so I pulled them out and away I went. I used Sassy Shoes from Skipping Stones Design for this little number.
I added some lace and some buttons. My shoes are 2nd generation stamped images.
And as always popped my senti with a few pop dots.

Mojo Monday

I decided to play along with Mojo Monday's sketch this week:
I used some old graduation paper from 2008 for my card. The back side has 2008 all over it but I love this side way more. Especially since 2008 is long gone.
I used stamps from Skipping Stones Design and added some Smooch Paint.
And you know me and my pop dots. I used them on my senti.
Thanks for stopping by.

Double Embossing

While wasting too much of my time on Pinterest the other day, I came across this card and fell in love
After a little clicking it brought me to Kimber's Creations blog and the tutorial on how to do this fun and awesome looking technique. I had to run out and get the same stamps and everything. Yes, this was a card I was gonna CASE almost to a T! That's how much I loved it. So away I went with Kimber's tutorial and here's what I came up with. It's not perfect but it's a good start. Just need a little practice and maybe some juicier Versa Mark.

Needless to say, I'm now following Kimber. Super easy technique too, give it a whirl.

Hey Chickie (ISSC03)

I found a great new sketch blog called iSpy Sketches and finally had time this week to sit down and play along. Here is their sketch this week:
What a fun sketch. I decided to flip the sketch on it's side and go from there. I used paper from Cosmo Cricket's Delovely line that I had to have a few years ago and have used very little of. I love the paper! Here's my card:
I also got the chipboard embellies with this line of paper so I decided to go with one of them. I love this little chic. I paired it with a senti from the What's Shakin' set of stamps from Creative Vision. I also decided to use the tutorial from TGF for the banners. So easy and brilliant. I'm not sure why I didn't think of it.
Thanks for stopping by and make sure to get over to iSpy Sketches and play along.

How Many?

My baby brother has a birthday coming up soon, I guess since he's turning 27 he's not really a "baby" but he'll always be my baby brother. Aside from my rambling, I needed a birthday card for him so I picked up some of My Minds Eye Fun Day line to make his card.
I picked up this cool new stuff called Goosebumps. It's a spray like clear embossing powder. It's so cool! Anyway, I sprayed that on the numbers paper and inked over it with some Barn Door Distress Ink and sprayed on some teal Glimmer Mist.
Oh so cool! Love the look! I added some paper punched buttons and some twine. I finished it off with a fun little senti I picked up.

Happy 27th Birthday Baby Brother!!
XOXO
