CCS Sketch Challange

I love the sketch this week over at CCS so of coarse I played along. I never used to care much for sketches but lately, I love them! Here's the sketch:

How awesome is that sketch? Well here's my take on it.
My papers are by My Mind's Eye, it's the Bohemia Bliss collection. I love red and teals together. I popped up the sentiment which is the Admire Your Courage single sentiment from CCS. I love these little singles. They complete a card so quickly and nice.  I added some Prima flowers and some bling (of coarse some bling, don't you know I like my sparkle yet?) and some ribbon that I actually found in the Targe $1.00 section.

Skipping Stones Sketch Challange

1st off I want to say it's 11:30, I've just worked a 14 hour day, I'm tired so my post will be short, sweet and to the point. Today is the last sketch from Sgt. Stamper. She did a great job! Thanks for sketchin' for us! Here's today sketch:
Here is my take on it:
I used You Know Your Gettin' Old from SSD. Love this set! My paper is from My Minds Eye and of coarse had to throw some bling in there. Added a little Prima to cover a stamping booger. It looks a little out of place but looks better then the booger did. :)

A2 card box tutorial

Hello guys & dolls...thanks for tuning in for my tutorial for Creative Clear Stamps on how to make a cute little A2 gift box. Finished product will look something like this (I might add a little sentiment on the bottom right):

You will need:
1 sheet of 12x12 cardstock
paper cutter
scoring tool
score-tape or other strong adhesive
small magnets or velcro
embellies and stamps to decorate.

Your template will look like this (the numbers are how long to make your cuts).

You will cut on the black lines.
Score on the red lines. If you plan on stamping this is probably your best time to do so.
Fold the flaps on the score lines like this
Adhere the front flap to the 2 side flaps
(Trim where needed) I've attached a circle with the cute little birdie from the Hello Hunny set and attached the magnet to the back of that.
Add the magnets or velcro as I did above. Add ribbon and embellies as you wish.
Fill with A2 cards and envies and you have the cutest little gift.

Happy Friday with CCS

Hi all! Chelsea here, reporting from the great state of South Dakota! I'm so thrilled to be part of DT3! I wanna thank Laura for picking me to join the team and all the little people that got me to where I am today...ha ha ok, that was my goofy Friday humor (or lack there of). I'm no comedian so I'll just jump right into why I'm here....to post a card made with CCS's rockin' stamps! WOO HOO!!! I used the Hooked on Fishing set for this card.
The poor little wormy just sitting there on his hook waiting to be some big fishes dinner. If you look closer, on the brown you can see the bobbers that I stamped in versa mark as well.

I didn't wanna be a blog hog on the CCS Blog so I added my close up pictures here if you wanted to see more of this card.

This set is so versatile and fun. You must run, don't walk, right over to the store and grab yourself a Hooked on Fishing set. While your there pick up a few other things as well. Have a fantastic weekend!

With 2 girls scrap weekends coming up I thought I needed to pull out the Girls Weekend stamp set. Love this set! I created a cute little girls weekend kit. I used a small 4 pack of wine and covered the carrier (much like the frappuccino carriers out there). I used some card stock by Core'dinations. I then added a little Bo-Bunny round the top. I added some Stickles to the paper because as you will soon find out, I like my bling!

The front plate is stamped then the edges inked in Distress Ink in Broken China and a little Dusty Concord Distress Ink in the middle. I matted it on more Core'dinations cardstock and popped it up and added a few purple pearls.
My tag is done the same way as the front plate. I love the saying on the tag!
I wrapped the bottles of wine in the Bo-Bunny paper and stamped on some Core'dinations cardstock that I also wrapped around the bottle. And what weekend isn't complete with chocolate?
I tied ribbon around the handle to give it a little bit more of a kick. All I had was white ribbon that would match so I turned the distress ink pads upside down and while holding it tight to some scrap paper, I pulled some of the white ribbon through it a few times so that it ended up being the same colors as the inking around the edges of the tag and plate.

As for that eye candy, Here is Jami's sketch for this week:

And my card using her sketch. I love these new sets. Too much fun! This one comes from Gray Hares which is releasing TODAY, along with Chick Chat!
I used paper by Bo-Bunny called Love Shack Groovin'. It was 2 sided so I used both sides. Used a Martha boarder punch and added some yellow buttons and some ribbon from a spool.

I made a tent card using the directions found HERE. Love this idea.

Awwww, isn't this little bunny just adorable. I colored him with water color pencils, the pink is Smooch paint and his tail is Diamond Stickles.

I have an exciting secret to share

Ok, it's SHARE TIME!! Creative Clear Stamps had a design team call last week for their 3rd Design Team. Well, I spent last weekend creating a few cards for entries (which I've added to the bottom of this entry). I got an e-mail from Laura (the owner) yesterday with super dooper exciting news!

Drum roll please...

I MADE THE TEAM!

My welcome kit is in the mail and you better believe I'll be stalking the mailman and waiting at the front door with my ink pad. I can't wait to get started. Make sure you check out the Creative Clear Stamps blog and the store.

Also fun news to go along with this...There is a blog hop planned for March 24th so make sure to keep checking my blog as well as the Creative Clear Stamps Blog.

Here are the card I submitted in my application:

I made this card using the Officially Single set that CCS has available. I used some paper that I received in a kit swap (I think it's from Hobby Lobby) and a bunch of Prima's and some bling.
I inked the edges of the sentiment with with some Black Soot Distress Ink and dabbed a little Tattered Rose in the middle.

My 2nd card is made using the Martini glass from Skipping Stones Design and the sentiment from MTF Party Girl set.

I colored the olives with watercolor pencils and added some red bling for the pimentos. I used all paper from my scrap bin so I don't know who it's by.
Thanks for looking!

Blog Candy

So I thought I would let you all in on a little secret...I'm planning some blog candy. BUT there's a catch. I'm sitting at 23 followers...I will post the blog candy when I have 35 followers. Yes, yes, it's my bribe to the crafting world. But now here's the good news...if you follow me and sweet talk someone else to follow me, I'll give you 2 entries on the blog candy so round up your friends and convince them to follow. If you get a friend to follow, leave a comment on this post with who they are and I'll make sure you get entered twice. Until then, you will just have to hold out until I get my 35 followers. But just to make it worth your while, here's a little teaser of what I'm giving away:

And I'm thinking that for every follower over 35 by the 15th of March, I'll add a little something extra, ribbon, bling, something (only up to 10 items)...but you'll have to get me over 35 followers to see what that will be. :)

Skipping Stones Sketch 015

It's Tuesday!  That means another GREAT sketch from Jami Bova. I'm loving her sketches, very simple yet they make me think. Here is the sketch for this week:

I'm not even sure how I altered this weeks sketch...flipped it on it's side and then I think I mirrored it. Anyway, you see the similarities. Here is my take on the sketch:
I started with some paper from Carolee's Creations, both the patterned paper and the blue cardstock is from Carolee's. The green cardstock is more of that pearl stuff from Walmart that I hoard.
From there I used some of the Heidi Swap stuff I used last week to paper piece the chick, which by the way, is the new set of stamps from Skipping Stones Design. I cut the chicks out, added a little orange stickles to their legs and beaks and then pop dotted everything.  I even stamped some grass from that set, cut it out and pop dotted it as well.
I distressed the edges of everything (though some places are hard to see it) and finished it off with a Petaloo flower. The gem that was on it didn't match so I changed those out to one that did. I am loving the paper pieced look and might have to try more of it. Thanks for looking and have a great week!

Mojo Monday 129

I'm really enjoying doing Mojo Monday and this week my Grandma asked if I could make her a card for a friend of hers who just had their first grand child. Mojo Monday's sketch was perfect.

I'm not sure what it was about this sketch but I loved it! So easy and fun to do. I used papers from my scraps and the stamps are from Skipping Stones Design. I used Diamond Stickles on the baby feet as well. They are stamped in Tattered Rose distress ink. I embossed the bottom pink paper with the paisley folder and my Cuttlebug and matted everything in white cardstock. (It was hard to get a decent picture of this card for some reason.)

Skipping Stones Designs Sketch 014

Happy Tuesday, we are just that much closer to Friday! This is a new month which means we have a new sketch artist over at Skipping Stones Design. Her name is Jami Bova and she has come up with some great sketches for us for March. Here is the 1st.

For a change I didn't alter the sketch much at all, can you believe that one? Here's my card:

I used some paper from an older collection of Heidi Swap. It was double sided so I was able to use the back side for the lacy accents on the left. I also used some pearl pink paper that came from a stack I had gotten at Wal-Mart years ago. I can't find it anymore so it's one of those papers that I hoard. I embossed it with the paisley folder from Cuttlebug. The stamps are the new release from Skipping Stones called Chicks. They are super cute!

Here are a few close ups of the cute little chick. I colored her with water color pencils. I added some orange distress stickles to her legs and beak. I also dabbed a little tattered rose to her checks and added some white pen to her body for something different. I added a little bling embellie and inked the edges of the card.

For the back of the card Heather has designed this super cute bar code. I had to use it!

Another date with Mojo Monday

I'm really starting to enjoy working on sketches so I've decided to give Mojo Monday's sketch this week awhirl. Here is the sketch:

And although my card isn't identical to the sketch, I think it works well.

I used some of that Pirate Princess paper that I love so much and the Rock On set of stamps from CTMH. Added a little bling paper and some ribbon. Colored my image with pink Smooch paint and Diamond stickles.

I also added a sentiment from another set I have but don't know the name of. But I thought it to be slightly Pirate Princessy (is that even a word?)
