I'm on a roll - Mojo Monday

Well I figured since I participated in the MFT challange, I might as well keep going and do Mojo Monday's challanged as well. I love this sketch.

I went with square because I didn't want to have to get out my design studio to cut a circle card but I might have to one of these days because  I love the look of the round card.

I used some pink embossed paper fro my scrap bin that I've had for years. The Rock Diva paper is by Moxxie and the matting under the image is some silver from a stack I got a few years ago at Wal-Mart. The image is from The Greeting Farm and I bought her because her name is Chelsea, same as me. She's jamming to an MP3 player which I figure, she's jamming out to some New Kids on the Block. I colored her with water color pencils but her eye shadow and MP3 player is colored in pink Smooch paint. My favorite part is her hair. I've decided that I want pink in my hair like that too. :)  The ribbon is from my stash.

MFT Challange (MFTWSC02242010)

This week over at MFT the challange is as follows:
This weeks WSC Challenge is:
*Use any Flopsey (DIGI’s count too!) image
*Use any main image and leave it completely colorless or paper pieced

I thought, hey...I have some of these images from an image swap...I'll give it a whirl. Here is my card:

I used some pirate princess paper by Rusty Pickle, inked the edges of Flopsy in some Tattered Rose Distress Ink (hope this doesn't count as color on the image). I added a little bling and some pretty pink ribbon.

Donuts and Donuts of thanks!

Don't judge too quickly on my pictures on this entry. I had temporarily lost my camera before I mailed this card and had to use the cell phone camera. I of coarse found the camera last night, 2 days after the card was mailed. Always my luck. I always say if it weren't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck. Anyway, enough with my ramblings, lets get to the card.

I made this card this week for a friend who worked on my car for me. She was so sweet to help

Wow...that really is a bad picture huh? Sorry kids!  I used some new stripe valentine's paper from Altered Art as well as some pink from my scrap bin and the blue is the back side of some of the Hippity Hop Easter Paper Altered Art also has. The ribbon was from a spool from Micheal's. I colored the donut with watercolor pencils, the frosting is pink smooch paint, and stickles. I used the new Martha Stewart star punch that I'm in love with as well.

Well that picture is a bit better. I also used some glossy accents on the donut itself.

The stamps are Donut Birthday from Skipping Stones Design
.

Keep your eyes peeled to the Skipping Stones website. Although this is an unreleased set,  alot of times she does a buy 3 get this set free deal. Best way to go!

Tuesday snuck up on me - SSD013

Sadly this is the last sketch from Belinda at Blue Bella Paperie. Thanks for the great sketches Belinda and for challenging me to do things I wouldn't normally try. Here is the last sketch:

For my card I used an unreleased set. I stamped the flowers on a small portion of cardstock and then cut them apart and inked the edges. I matted them with the back side of the plaid paper which is Hippity Hoppity paper from We R Memory Keepers called Wicker. I stamped the sentiment, inked the edges in a few matching colors and then covered it in Stampin' Up Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.  Added a cute little yellow ribbon and called it done.

Final Twilight Tuesday Challange

This week is sadly the last week for Twilight Tuesday so I thought I better participate. The challange was to create a project that uses printed text: a page from a magazine, book, dictionary, etc. within your project, as the background or focal point. I used digi Jacob from TGF stamps as well as some scraps I had in my stash and the printed text  was paper I had received at a retreat a few years ago. I finally had a reason to use it. The sentiment is from Artful Inkables. Love that set of stamps!  I also used their most recent sketch challange.

Welcome to Skipping Stones Design’s Blog Hop(e) for Haiti. If you just happened upon my blog today, you’ll want to go back to the beginning at Skipping Stones Design .  You should have come from Jackie’s blog.

As a company, we wanted to do something to give back to the people who have been so devastated by the Haitian Earthquake.  So we thought what better way than to invite some of our favorite stampers to join us in this cause.  Each card you see on the blog hop today will be auctioned on E-bay with all proceeds going to the Red Cross in support of the Haitian Relief Effort (please check the Skipping Stones Design Website for the link to the auction).  100% of the proceeds of the Ebay auction and $2.00 from every stamp set purchased from February 16 - 22 will be donated to the Red Cross. We know that we can make a difference.

Here is the card that I've made to be auctioned off:
I used an unreleased set of stamps from Skipping Stones. Keep checking back for a release date.

I used paper from My Mind's Eye, the Bella Bella collection, and some cream cardstock.I stamped and embossed the cute little snowflakes around Mr. Snow with Versa Mark ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. I also used some teal Smooch paint on his scarf and mittens.  I also added pearl blings all over this card.

I even added some love on the inside of this card.

Thank you for stopping by and your next blog to hop to is the talented Deb.

How about a prize? In addition to the fabulous eye candy, we have decided to hide a prize somewhere along the hop! There will be a few pre-release sets up for grabs hidden along the blog hop.  The fun part is...we're not telling you who it is! So as you hop, make sure you leave comments on every post so you have a chance to win!!

If there is a break somewhere along the way,  there will be a master list at:

Happy Skipping Stones Design Sketch Tuesday

YEA! It's Tuesday again...1 more day closer to Friday and Sketch day at Skipping Stones. I love revealing my creations on Sketch Day.  Our sketch is brought to you today by the letter....no wait...brought to you today from Belinda at Bell Blue Paperie. I loved this sketch.
You know me, I had to alter the sketch a bit. Not a lot though, ok, maybe a lot. You be the judge.

I used the Joy Fold Card technique from Split Coast Stampers. I used the Well Behaved set of stamps, special edition, also known as the Misbehaven set because of the spellings oop's. Either way I love this set.  I also used some Bo-Bunny dot paper called Strawberry and some DCWV zebra paper. I have sponge inked the piece of paper that has the sentiment with Black Soot and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks. The shoes are 2nd generation images.  The flower is a bunch of stacked primas.
Can you believe the only sparkle on this page is the pearlized brads? WOW! 2 cards in a row without sparkle. Maybe it's the weather causing that. Gotta snap outta it...Sparkle makes EVERYTHING better!

Now that your single...

I found this set of stamps by a company called Creative Clear Stamps and fell in love with the humor of them. I had to order the Officially Single set. We can all use a little humor when we're leaving or being left by Mr. Wonderful I always think. I had to hurry up and get these stamps a little inky. Here's what I came up with.

I used the new Hippity Hoppity paper from We R Memory Keepers called Wicker, used the paisley embossing folder on it. I added some ribbon a few buttons and sponge inked the sentiment with a few different colors and there we are.

Inside says:
"Wanted: The exact opposite of the last loser"

Also can you believe it, there is NO bling, sparkle or glitter on this card. YIKES!

3 goals down with this card

I can honestly say that this is NOT one of my favorite cards but I accomplished 3 things on this card that I said I wanted to try this month so I'm posting it for that fact.

I used this sketch from Mojo Mondays (1st goal of this post):
Of course I had to flip the sketch. That's just the way I roll. I used the Stitch set from Skipping Stones for the sentiment and the embossed flowers.

I also made one of those paper flowers (goal number 2 in this post) that everyone has been making. I used the tutorial found HERE. It was super easy to follow. all papers are from a stack I had gotten at Hobby Lobby awhile back. I sprayed the flower with Glimmer Mist. It made it pretty and pinkish and sparkly. I also sewed the ribbon on card (goal number 3 in this post).I did a fold and sew technique. I'm not sure I'm sold on it totally. I would love to do more sewing on a card but it's gonna take some practice.

Finally I embossed the stitched flower stamps with Stampin' Up's Iridescent Ice embossing powder. I love how the sentiment section turned out.
"Never stop sparkling"

Skipping Stones Designs 010 sketch

We have a new sketch artist to feature this month over at Skipping Stones. Belinda Chang Langer from Bell Blue Paperie. She's got some great sketches for us this month. I'm so excited to be working on these sketches. Here is the 1st sketch by Belinda for the month of February:

I used the Chic Martini set on my card. Love the Martini and the quote on this. I felt the floor on a few occasions after 3 martinis myself. :)

I used paper by We R Memory Keepers from their White Out collection called Frenzy-Rumble. It was a 2 sided paper with 4 squares of different designs on the back side. I love 2 sided paper! I stamped and embossed little olives on the red part of the paper with Stampin' Up's Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.

I used some Glossy Accents on the martini glass to make it look like glass and used red stickles on the olives, although you can't tell this with the Glossy Accents over it.  I also created a 3D star and used a glittery brad in the center of it before I pop dotted it onto the card. Added a little ribbon from my stash and some Distressed Inks to complete my card.  You know me and my glitter, sparkle and bling, it's on this card too.                               "Life is better when it sparkles"
