Card request for Jayme

Jayme is in her early 50's and has terminal lung cancer. To make it worse, her sweet dachshund Molly passed away a couple weeks ago. Today we learned her cancer has spread to several other areas and her time is running out. I am asking for all my card making friends to send her a fun card...not really get well cards obviously, but something pretty or funny that will make her smile. I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday's #106 for my card today.

I used the digi stamp from The Greeting Farm called Joyce, she was a limited edition Twilight digi set.

I colored her with some water color pencils and added moonlight Smooch paint. I usually use stickles for the vampire sparkle but thought I would try something new. Not sure if I like it as well.

I used paper from my scrap bin so I'm not sure who it's by but I added some glittery white to go with it. I added some blue bling and the sentiment Team Rosalie from Artful Inkables Fictionally Inspired set.

WOO HOO...20 days!

21 days until Eclipse

Ahhh, I'm back with another Eclipse card! What a weekend....
I used the Mojo Monday sketch:

This was a fun sketch to work with. I adore Mojo Monday's! Here's my card:

I used some apple paper I found out at Hobby Lobby by Paper Studio as well as some Core'dinations cardstock. I sanded a few spots of the Core'dinations.

I stamped the apple image from Epic Tales by Artful Inkables and colored it with water color pencils and used some Smooch gold paint on the rings.

Also stamped the sentiment from the same set and inked the edges of all of the white paper with black smoot Distress Ink. Added a little bit of red ribbon for the loops to finish off the card.

And I don't have a card! EEEK! I worked 22 hours this weekend and had a slight family emergency that ended up being nothing in the end but it kept me at my moms until midnight on Saturday night so I didn't get the opportunity to get a card done for today. So sorry! Besides Blogger was all wonky today and I just finally was able to get logged in at 3:30 in the afternoon.  Have a great day and don't forget to check out Stephanie Meyer's new book. I made today's card to coinside with the challenge over at Artful Inkables. The challenge is to make a card based on the cover of one of the Twilight Saga books. I used Breaking Dawn for inspiration.

I used the sets Into The Moonlight and Fictionally Inspired by Artful Inkables. I stamped the checker board in white ink and inked the edges in black soot Distress Ink. I stamped my queen and pawn on cardstock and cut them out. The pawn took a bit of altering to make it not look like the queen that it really is.

I pop dotted the queen to make her stand out as she does on the book cover and finished off the card with the stamped words "Fanpire"  as the book title. I matted the black card stock on red Core'dinations cardstock.

Today's card is a sketch from Our Creative Corner. They always have such fun sketches.

My card today uses Bella's truck from the Artful Inkables set Into the Moonlight. I stamped it onto the B side of some Basic Grey paper and cut it out. I added some Glossy Accents to the windows and some Enamel Accents to the tires as well as some silver and gold Smooch paint though out.

I used some paper that looks like metal floorboards (I havethe name at home and will post it later) and some dark grey Core'Dinations. I also used a little more of the B side of the Basic Grey paper. I sponged  some blue and green/brown onto the wite circle and pop dotted the cute little truck on the circle.

I put some black ribbon with a little truck charm on the card (excuse the cruddy bow, it looked good til I started putting it on the card). Added a little pop dotted tag that says Team Bella inked in some barn door distress ink and called it good.

Knockin' Boots

I have been struggling and struggling with the sketch this week over at Card Positioning System CPS). I tried a lot of different things but I think I was taking it all too literal and last night when I was making a card just for the heck of it (OMG, I did that? are you sure?) I realized OMGosh! This is so totally the sketch that I've been struggling with! I had to flip the sketch on it's side to get my adorable image to work but YEA....I have a card with this sketch!

I had this fun western looking paper hanging around in my scrap box from My Minds Eye, it's another B side paper so that's what the base of my card it, layered with the blueish western stars. I stamped my little Shooter from The Greeting Farm and colored her with water color pencils. I inked around the edges of the top note with some tea dye distress ink.

I folded in hald a cool flower that I sprayed with Sandy Beach Glimmer Mist and added the western looking brad to both the top note and the flower and attached it to my card with pop dots.

It's kind of hard to see but her gun is painted with silver Smooch paint and the star on her belt and the circles on her belt I used gold Smooch paint. The sentiment is from the Twisted Sentiments set from My Favorite Things.

Cocktail?

I got this new little Kraftin Kimmie stamp called Perfect Potion the other day and couldn't wait to ink her up, she's so cute! I even used her for the Kraftin Kimmie challange #31, Rough it up.
I used sketch 1022 from Cheers & Challenges Eclectic Ensemble (CCEE). (So I didn't use a circle but it's the same basic concept).

If you look close you can see all the distressing on all the edges of my papers, I even pulled the bottom corners up and curled them.

Most of my paper is from the Rusty Pickle line called Pirate Princess. One of my all time favorite lines. I used this paper so my card would qualify for the Tiddly Inks Challenge #7, Going Goth. I colored Little Miss with water color pencils and added a bit of Glossy Accents to her bottle of potion. I inked her edges with Black Soot distress ink.

I made another one of those fun little roses out of the Pirate Princess paper and cut some swirls out on the Cricut and added them to the rose. I'm using the rose as my entry into the Paper Makeup Stamps June Release Challenge.

As you can see I either tore my paper or distressed it with my Heidi Swapp distresser.

25 days until Eclipse (Pixie Cottage #21)

Yea...only 25 more days and WOO HOO I'll get to see Eclipse AND my Bestie Brandie! I can't wait!

I wasn't sure about this sketch, it looked to busy to me when I started it but I like a challenge and I think it turned out pretty well and not too busy.

My patterned paper is from Jenni Bowlin. Love it! I used card stock from Core'dinations which I sanded pretty good. I stamped the image from Artful Inkables from Into The Moonlight set and the sentiment from Fictionally Inspired. I inked all my edges with Black Soot distress ink and pop dotted the sentiment.

I made the roses myself. Thanks Cathy and Kara for the instructions! I love how they turned out. Other then a few cramps in my hands, I'll be making more of these.

I'm back...with yet another card. I used the Mojo Monday sketch for the week:

 How cool is that sketch? I went with square, here's my card:

I used some paper by Queen Co. called Magic Damask. It has a B side which is the red matting. The red that's punched with the boarder punch is DCVW cardstock.

The stamp is from from Epic Tales from Artful Inkables. I inked the edges with Black Soot distress ink. I matted the sentiment twice and pop dotted it to the card.

Added some ribbon from the $1 bin at Micheal's and a charm I got awhile ago.

Also entering this into the Crafty Creations Challenge #70, Black, White and a splash of Red.

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #81 ~ Ferris Buellers Day Off

This card is for the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge where the movie they picked as a theme was Ferris Buellers Day Off. The only thing that kept going through my head was...
"Bueller, Bueller, Buller, Buller..."
But, sadly I couldn't come up with a card to go with that so I picked the baseball game from the clip below (hopefully it works)



And my card to match. My image is Batter Ian from The Greeting Farm. Isn't he cute. Cameron and Ferris were off watching the Cubbies play so his uniform is colored as close to match the Cubs.

I used a bunch of scrap paper for my card. I printed the sentiment on the computer, and inked it with Barn Door distress ink.

I drew the bases and base line in with a white pe.

Whoop Do Freakin' Do (CVSC10)

This is how I felt yesterday. Glad today is Wednesday and the week is 1/2 over. I love Laura's sketches over at Creative Clear Stamps. So for my card I used her sketch:

Now isn't that a rockin' sketch? I used the tutorial that Jenny did for CCS found HERE using ink on embossing folders. Love the look! Here's my card:

I used 2 different embossing folders with circles, one on black paper with white ink and one on white paper with black ink. Because this is black and white with texture it fits in to the challenge over at Our Creative Corner.

I used the single sentiment from CCS called Whoop De Do. Love these singles! I inked the edges with some black soot distress ink and matted it on black cardstock. Added a little black ribbon with white polka dots to go with the circle theme. My corners even have a 1/4 of a circle on them. I guess this is my circle card. :)

27 days until Eclipse

WOW...for some reason (I can't imagine what) I'm kicking myself for starting this Twilight card thing so soon before the movie. I totally should have just done like 2 weeks before the release but here I am...

Here is today's card featuring Dressy Edward from The Greeting Farm in Digi form. My paper is called Vintage Love by Glitz with some red Bo-Bunny dot paper and some silver metallic paper from DCWV which I embossed with the script embossing folder. The dark gray paper is some from my scrap box.

I colored him with water color pencils and added some diamond Stickles to make him sparkle. Also inked the edges with some Pumice Stone Distress Ink. I used the Be Safe sentiment from Artful Inkables Fictionally Inspired set.

I got this cool little flower in a swap on SCS and loved it because it's made of real book pages and one of he major words on the 1st layer was Jasper. I thought that was too coincidental to not use this rockin' flower on this card, (This picture will be added later, for some reason it didn't stay on the post).

Skipping Stones Design Sketch #26

Happy Tuesday ya'll. Hope you enjoyed your long weekend (if you had one). I know I did, I spent a day in the Black Hills with a friend and then got sun burnt mowing the lawn (OUCH!). I finished up my weekend creating my card for the sketch challenge today from Skipping Stones Design.

We have a new sketch artist this month, Teri Anderson, check her out, she's got some fab work! Here's her 1st sketch for SSD:

Check out those circles! Love them! I subbed them for chocolate chips however. Here's my take on the sketch:

My paper was all card stock scraps I had laying around. I love when I can use up scraps!

Stamped my chips in Versa Mark Ink, added a cute little boarder punch out of some metallic teal card stock and a bit of matching ribbon.

I stamped my sentiment from the Chocolate 1 set and slathered it in Versa Mark Ink and coated it with Iridescent Ice embossing powder from Stampin' Up. I love this stuff!

Finished it off with a little bling in the corner cuz I felt that it was a little naked and there we have it.
